Meet Our Coaches
Kyle Barret
Director of Baseball/Head Coach
Kyle’s playing career includes notable achievements, such as being named Peninsula Athletic League MVP at Carlmont HS, earning All-American honors at Skyline College, and receiving All-Big West recognition at California State Northridge.
Following his collegiate career, Kyle transitioned into coaching, joining the CSUN coaching staff to mentor hitters and serve as the team’s first base coach during games.
In 2023, Kyle assumed the role of Head Varsity Coach at Woodside Priory, where his leadership has propelled the program to new heights. Under his guidance, the team achieved a 15-1 record and secured its first-ever CCS appearance and win.
Most recently, he was with Game Prep Baseball Academy as the 13U head coach and a hitting/infield instructor. Kyle believes that baseball is vital in developing life skills such as commitment, communication, leadership and resilience in young athletes.
John Gherini
Director of Pitching/Coach
John Gherini’s passion for baseball began in his youth and continues to this day. John played four years of varsity baseball at the University of California, San Diego, where he was a starting pitcher and co-captain of his senior season.
He has coached at every youth level, including Little League All-Stars. He is currently a member of the Hillsborough Little League board, where he leads player development.
John’s coaching philosophy encourages players to focus on what is in their control such as staying positive, hustling and focus instead of being solely outcome oriented. He will be overseeing our pitching program and assisting with our teams.
